[Gabriel arrives a few minutes later, hands in the pockets of his jacket and the blood of something with fangs on his boots.] Those damn rabbits. Get me every damn time.

[The animals give Castiel a wide berth, but then again whenever he's in the wastes he's usually furious or upset, and the creatures know to steer clear lest they be exploded.]

[He's on topic again immediately, hands in his pockets, generally looking displeased with life.]

Maybe they hate your coat. [Or Gabriel's a Disney princess. Either way, he doesn't usually go out of his way to kill furry creatures unless they provoke him.

He gives Castiel a puzzled look.] Oh, this'll be good. [There are only so many things one can ask his advice on and actually get a good answer. He's pretty sure the main ones aren't any of Castiel's concern.]

[Castiel shifts slightly, staring at the ground for a few moments as he decides how to word this.]

I don't know what to do about Rei and Lucifer. You know both of them, and you are the only one who might have some idea.

[Because he can't keep getting stuck in the middle, trying to protect them both, and then have them be angry with him for watching out for the other.]

[Oh God. Gabriel pinches the bridge of his nose.] You think I know? I like 'em both too, but the only way they're gonna get along is if Lucifer keeps his hands to himself and Rei keeps her sanctimonious BS to herself, and neither of 'em can do that. There's no mystical fix-all to awkward social situations, bro. Sometimes you just gotta deal.

[On one hand, that doesn't help. On the other at least it is Castiel failing; this is just that annoying of a situation.]

Rei is trying, but I've asked Lucifer many times not to force an in-person meeting between the two of them, and he refuses to abide by it. And it seems he truly attempted to start a fight with her a few weeks ago, before he spoke with the Animus.

[Gabriel you understand their brother better, help.]

[It's more that he refuses to respect Castiel's wishes than that he and Rei catfight. Castiel's more than a little frustrated, and his feelings might be slightly hurt.]

I have been trying. But it isn't just Lucifer; though Rei is being less difficult now, she still engages in conflict with him instead of allowing me to deal with it.

[And a pause, as he is reminded of what she'd said this time.]

The last thing that any of us need is a conflict with the shinigami. Lucifer has said he will not use souls again, but...

[Castiel knows how easy that is to say. Just that Lucifer's been doing so makes him remember how little effort it takes, and how much power it grants, and what that could be used for.]

[Castiel has little opinion of Unohana either way at the moment, as he doesn't actively dislike her anymore after he apology, but that's about it.]

I don't know how much sway she has over them. As I understand most of them are the same rank.

Ukitake seems the most levelheaded of them all other than Unohana, however.

[They could talk to him if necessary, if problems arise.]
