[Gabriel forced his way into the operating room by way of manipulation, a lab coat, and some charm, but after seeing Jinx cut open, hearing her almost flatline, catching the whiff of blood, viscera, and charred wings, he bolted, lest he take the whole building down with him in his frustration and fear. He couldn't do anything to save her. If she died...

He was skulking in a corner, close enough where he could pick up some the chatter about the progress of the surgery- she was stable, but barely, and he was stuck transfixed by it like someone watching a horrific car accident.

Lucifer calling for him was so much a mercy that he didn't think at all before he flew to it, not even thinking it might be a trap... Not until he was actually standing in front of his brother, anyway. Instinct said to just run into his arms and hide. Brains said stay put. And his heart wasn't in anything right now, so, for once, brains won out.]
