[There's no one in Port from her world. And, well, Gabriel is an Angel.]

[A soft, weak laugh. See? That's why she called you. She's also playing with her sheep necklace as she talks.]

No. If I smelled him again, I'd know who he is.

[A pause.]

I've smelled him before. At Fangtasia. We talked. But he smelled... there was something different then. He didn't smell like the vampires back home. Like there was something... additional to him. It was magic or some sort. I don't know what.

[Because she doesn't know she was smelling the magic of Angel having his soul. And would think it weird anyway!]

Does he know you're a shifter?

What happened? [That hard edge in his voice? That is concealed worry. It's ninja worry.]

Wastes? [It's the go-to place for angel BS.]

[Gabriel arrives a few minutes later, hands in the pockets of his jacket and the blood of something with fangs on his boots.] Those damn rabbits. Get me every damn time.

[The animals give Castiel a wide berth, but then again whenever he's in the wastes he's usually furious or upset, and the creatures know to steer clear lest they be exploded.]

[He's on topic again immediately, hands in his pockets, generally looking displeased with life.]

Maybe they hate your coat. [Or Gabriel's a Disney princess. Either way, he doesn't usually go out of his way to kill furry creatures unless they provoke him.

He gives Castiel a puzzled look.] Oh, this'll be good. [There are only so many things one can ask his advice on and actually get a good answer. He's pretty sure the main ones aren't any of Castiel's concern.]

[Castiel shifts slightly, staring at the ground for a few moments as he decides how to word this.]

I don't know what to do about Rei and Lucifer. You know both of them, and you are the only one who might have some idea.

[Because he can't keep getting stuck in the middle, trying to protect them both, and then have them be angry with him for watching out for the other.]

[It takes a few minutes for her to get the nerve to send this.]

If I was okay with getting rid of the contract, do you know a way to do it?

[Sigh] I'm working on it. Called this day happening from the jump.

I know stabbing that fuzzy little bastard doesn't work. That's about it.

[Oh God. Gabriel pinches the bridge of his nose.] You think I know? I like 'em both too, but the only way they're gonna get along is if Lucifer keeps his hands to himself and Rei keeps her sanctimonious BS to herself, and neither of 'em can do that. There's no mystical fix-all to awkward social situations, bro. Sometimes you just gotta deal.

There has to be a way somehow. Maybe it'll just take a little while to find.
