OOC } Hellooooo? Trickster?

Have you ever wondered something about Gabriel? His thoughts on Mary, Mother of God. His thoughts on yaoi. His thoughts on sugar-free gum? Well, wonder no more, my dears, for here is your Holy Grail of answers, whether to meaningless questions or questions that Gabriel would never answer, because he doesn't want to catch ~Feelings~.

[Fic] Listen to Coyote, kid, he always knows the way...

Angels are not omnipotent. Angels are not gods. To say otherwise is to blaspheme in a way that makes all other disobedience seem tame by comparison.

Cardinal rules of being an angel. The unspoken Commandments that no one brought down on high for them- they simply just knew. Thou shalt not disobey. Thou shalt not think thy might is stronger than His. Thou shalt not presume thou art a god.

Rules for an angel, but what of an angel playing the part of a god, so far past the rules that the lines have been blurred? There is no forgive me, Father in the corners of cities were the sinful and deserving fall on their knees to die by his wrath and justice. He creates worlds born from his fingertips and wonders in the silence after a snap if that was how he was blessed into creation by his father's hands.

There's hope for some that pass his way, and they go unharmed, a lesson learned, a knowledge imparted. The next time won't be so easy is a warning that rings in every fleeing ear, because The Messenger has always had his messages and would be nothing without them.

But for every one that passes his tests, for every person that he plays vengeful god and warning savior to, there's another who fails the test. It takes so much energy to hold these worlds together and he feels it drain on his Grace until he knows there's no point anymore in keeping it together. It's just a click of his fingers, but for some unlucky person, it's screaming agony into a void- a pinprick of nonexistence without a warning.

Sometimes he wonders, as he lowers his arm and goes back on his way, forgetting, for the moment, that he is not a god and never was, if his Father had ever considered ending the earth like that and saving Himself some trouble.

One snap. And then nothing.

[livejournal.com profile] sunday_reveries: See this saga through and do the things you aske

[info]sunday_reveries : Because any man weak enough to hide his eyes while his neighbors are punished for the way they love deserves a vengeful god.
--Karen Finneyfrock

When asked to trace the apocalypse to its source, Gabriel would refuse to draw elaborate lines through the years to stop at a house in Lawrence, Kansas, and would, instead, just stick a pin in a shithole tourist trap in the bowels of Florida some two years before the fact, because that? That was where the trouble started. Maybe Daddy had sworn up and down it would end with Sam and Dean when he flipped the switch and said, “Let there be Kansas-born fuck-ups,” but there was some hope for those two in the early days.

Once upon a time, Gabriel thought destiny was a crock. He’d taken his Grace out back and put it out of its misery like it was a dying dog and then replaced it with a Trickster’s skin. It still burned steadily though- as peppered with metaphorical buckshot as it was, it didn’t go down so easily. He felt the turn of the tides, the motions, the pulls, the twists in the fabric of reality that knit together to form the road he’d wished he’d never laid eyes on. When Dean sold his soul, he tried to halt construction on that path before it ever began.

Take me now, before I change my mind... )

[OOC] YE OLDE PERMISSIONS POST

Yeeeeah. It was getting about that time in my game life that I needed one of these bitches. OKAY. As I have Gabriel in several games and this spans, well, ALL OF THEM (except the first two sections don't really apply to Paradisa, but oh well), PLEASE put the name of the game and your character name in the subject header.

If Your Character Is a Villain, Bully, Jerk, or Asshole, please Dial 1.

1. Can Gabriel target your character- whether fatally or nonfatally- should they fit his MO- keep in mind that if you're just a bully who picks on people weaker than you or a repeat offender of some indiscretion or another (like constant philandering with young girls, for example), Gabriel won't kill you, although what you do when confronted with your misdeeds ain't his problem. The people he kills tend to be people who are either extremely set in their ways or do really horrific things. NOTE: I WILL CONTACT THE MUN IN QUESTION BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS.

2. Gabriel's brand of justice in hilarious, but very specific to the nature of the crime, always. What is the most logical just dessert for your character? (Examples in canon include a hotheaded man known for his temper being killed by the Incredible Hulk, a philandering professor being stalked by a young dead girl, a man who does animal testing being eaten by an alligator, etc.)

3. If your character hits one of Gabriel's "trigger buttons" (i.e. insult or harm his family, etc.), how much force is Gabriel allowed to use in retaliation? Keep in mind that he will lash out if you continue to berate him and it's impossible for me to keep him IC and restrained. Gabriel will provoke people, but while he won't attack people who lash out at him when they provoke him, he will attack if you provoke him a certain way. My suggestion is if you don't want to get your ass kicked, avoid the hot button topics when face to face with him or he might put you through a wall. Also, if you hurt a member of his family (and this includes friends), he will end your world. AGAIN: I WILL CONTACT YOU BEFORE THIS HAPPENS.

If Your Character Is Anyone Else, please Dial 2

4. Is Gabriel allowed to make reference to events in your past? As an angel, he has quasi-omniscience. He'll often know your name before you give it and random details about your past. He's a little less blunt about doing this than, oh say, Castiel, but he might still do it. KEEP IN MIND. This is a SOUL thing, not a mind-reading thing, so if your character has psychic blocks, he can still feel things out. He doesn't know everything about a character- just the events that shaped them, little bits and bobs like that. Also, if your character doesn't have a soul, he won't be able to get a decent read off of them. He can tell inhumans by "feel"/smell, but that doesn't mean he knows what they can do or who they really are.

5. Does your character have psychic powers? If the answer is yes, BE ADVISED THAT IF YOU PROBE GABRIEL'S MIND, YOU MIGHT RISK LOSING YOUR EYES. A psychic tried to contact Castiel and went blind. It's likely that digging in Gabriel's mind could cause madness or blindness- don't worry, he can tell if you're trying and will warn you to STOP IT.

6. If sex were to ever occur with Gabriel, are you okay with handwaving? Gabriel is a slut. I'm asexual who feels uncomfortable writing sex. If you're not okay with handwaving, then... Keep turning his sorry ass down and never sleep with him. XD

If Your Character Wants To Beat the Shit Out of and/or Torture Gabriel, please Dial 3.

DO IT. DO IT. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO IT. If you can find a way to get him de-powered and at your mercy, I am okay with it. I won't compromise him at full power to have someone who might not otherwise be able to beat him.... Beat him, but I'm completely and utterly okay with horrible things happening to him and am flexible enough to figure out ways to get him into situations he can't get out of, so if you want to take a chunk out of him, I'm always okay with it, provided it's IC and we can figure out a logical way to make it happen.

Any further questions about the character and what you can and can't do, etc. may be discussed in this post.... Since I totally forgot everything I needed to say.
