IC CONTACT POST

[A woman's voice comes over the line.]
You've reached the Trickster's voicemail. Unfortunately, Mr. Trickster isn't available to take your call, nor will he likely ever be. Should you still wish to leave a message, please respond after the tone, and maybe we'll remember to get it to him, mmkay?
[Beep]
[[OOC: This is an IC voicemail post for all verses games. Please put the name of the verse/game you want in the subject heading.]]

Look. I don't hold onto a lot of things. In the course of five minutes, I can go from tearing someone's arm off in a rage to making bad jokes. Not a lot bothers me. And, uh, Jinx? You're a girl. A strong-willed girl who can keep her emotions reigned in as well as I can, but... Y'know, still a girl. If you were a guy, this would be an awkward moment and I would probably have to go Fight Club on you.

It was really sweet that you cleaned up my apartment for me. I never really thanked you for that. You're putting up with way too much shit from me. But I guess you don't have to anymore. If you don't want to. We got the bad guy. Everything's good. You don't have to feel obligated to make me feel better anymore.

[His... Look of amusement completely fades at that last bit, however.]
...Uh... Wow. This is kinda backwards. I mean, honestly I was shocked you called. I figured I'd have to pop in every now and then, annoy you, occasionally ask you to work a job or two, and terrorize the boys, whatever. I mean... You got them back. Isn't that what mattered?
[Insecure... Met Insecure..er.]

Oh, god. You thought... [She stopped clutching the blanket around her and sat up.] Well, yes. But no. That may have been the catalyst but not the cause. Gabriel, I-- you-- [Okay, she just had to laugh at this irony.]
Do you have any idea how weird it was when everything was back to normal and I felt like it was all...all wrong? Because I didn't have some asshole standing there with an "I told you so" armed and ready? I miss-- [the sound of your voice, those looks you give, that stupid tongue thing you do, you. She's just not going to finish that thought.]
no subject
So all that back at the hotel wasn't... [...There's really no delicate way of finishing that sentence. Wasn't her being an overemotional teenage girl looking for escape? Wasn't him being the biggest douchenozzle that ever lived?
He shakes his head. Forget that thought.] You really do like me. [And that was not the least bit teasing.]
no subject
Just leave me a little dignity, okay? You've made it painfully clear that you just want to sleep with me, but everything else is probably so one-sided that it'll just get more complicated and I don't--
[Want to get hurt. Another silence.]
no subject
[More serious.] Not right now, anyway. I've been looking for something for a long time- someone who can look me in the eye and say, I get it. Besides, if we both don't belong anywhere, we might as well belong with each other. [He paused.] ...That came out more Hallmark card than I wanted it to, but you get the idea.
no subject
...
[Yeah, who was she kidding? Right now, nothing logical would come out of her. But damn it, Jinx was going to try, because that's what she did.]
Okay.
[...that was all she got.]

I don't keep a diary and if I find any candy stuck to my Gucci, you're a dead man. [She wraps her arms around his shoulders and leans in for a not-so-chaste kiss.]
no subject
Like you even keep candy in this place. The licorice wasn't bad though. Not my first choice, but eh. Beggers can't be choosers, hm?
no subject
I want to get something out of the way early on. I know so much about you, and you don't even know my real name.

Sappy, stupid, I know. Just... humor me? This is supposed to be a big deal.

[She got a little more comfortable, no intention of getting off him for a while, and started kissing his neck.] Is reading souls [kiss] anything like [lick] reading minds? [teeth sinking lightly into his neck]
no subject
[He makes an extremely pleased groan at the biting and loses all train of thought for a second.]
Now I just use it for party tricks, like that thing at the food court. Can't really shut it off, so I have to do something with it. You should see how my brothers use it. It'd scare the crap outta you. People call me sadistic- some of 'em upstairs would make you wonder which one's the real hell.
no subject
That's actually kind of, weird to say... comforting. I don't have to explain my flaws to you. You know I'm messed up and bad. [A grin.] You know what you're getting into.
[She moved up to tug at his earlobe, letting her hand rest gently against his throat. Her claws slid lightly across his jugular.] It it... empathic? Can you tell how happy I am right now? [If he couldn't already tell by the purring and affection.]
no subject
And you have no idea what you're getting into. [He said it softly, almost as an afterthought.] It's not a bad thing... Not really.
[Not unless his Lucifer showed up. Or any number of the family that would try to put the smack down on the brazen harlot their brother was cooling around with.
He reached up to lay a hand on hers- the one on his neck.] Mine is. Call me sentimental- hell, call it crazy, but I'm the one angel in Heaven who feels the most. And it makes my life suck. [A pause] Usually. Now? [He situates himself, resting his cheek against her head, feeling unusually strange that he could feel more comfortable than he has in months- not claustrophic and aching to get out of here, not trapped in the endless struggle of his brothers. Just somewhere else, where he could do what he wanted and people actually actively cared about him.] Now I don't mind it.
no subject
But right now, she felt more content than she had any right to. After a few lighter kisses to his neck, she settled against him and let her eyes fall shut. On his neck, she moved her hand to lace her fingers with his.]
You're sentimental and crazy? I'm the one with a crush on an angel of God, here. [Her voice sounded a bit strange with that underlying purr to her every word. Jinx could fake a lot of things, but she couldn't fake comfort.] Gabriel... I want to make this complicated. I want you in my life as much as either of us can stand.
no subject
Complicated's exactly what it's gonna be. The last woman I got this involved with? She would've killed me in front of an entire audience if I didn't think ahead. And I won't lie and say it wasn't me, it was her. I'm not easy to get along with. My baggage has its own baggage and that baggage has carry-ons. [He paused, sighing and moving to wrap an arm around her.] But if you're still not scared of me- well, you don't really scare me much either. I could make this complicated.
[And he break that fragile heart of hers into a million pieces, too. He wanted to say that, warn her ahead of time, but he didn't want to. He wanted complicated- he wanted someone he could protect who'd actually do the same for him. He wanted to reach out and touch something and have it touch him in return.
Complicated. Right.]

Jinx sat up a little to look down at him, then let go of his hand to start petting his hair.]
I don't get you... not yet. I don't have a thousand years to figure it out, I probably don't have ten, but I'm going to do the best I can. You're worth it, and I'm not going to waste my time being afraid of you.
[She leaned down and kissed him. Once. Softly. She spoke again, barely pulling away.] But I am going to waste my time making out with you. [The next kiss was not so soft. Nor the next one. Well, his tongue was soft. That may have counted for something.]
no subject
[And that was that. When she resumed the making out, he returned it with equal fervor, the kissing interspersed with rumbling noises of pleasure, as he curled his fingers in her hair. No one would ever call Gabriel a quiet person to molest. He wasn't a screamer or anything like that- more like a pathological growler. Some chicks dug it.
