I think you're desperate, Mike. [Gabriel sounds a little defeated now. Part of him wants to believe it, but he also doesn't care enough. Dad left them. He has no right to talk to them now.] What did he say?

Maybe but not enough to hallucinate Him. [An admittance that doesn't come easily. He hadn't expected a reply or wasn't even sure he wanted one. Honestly Michael expected it to be heard but pushed aside like all of his other attempts to talk to God.] Quite a few things. We had a long conversation.

[There may not have been a lot of words exchanged but with everything else it had been a lot. More than Michael's gotten in a long time.] We talked about the family.

Did He happen to mention why the hell He's lurking in Canada? [Gabriel's shoulders tense. This isn't a revelation that he's taking lightly.]

It didn't come up. [He pauses now, shifting to look out at the water.] After the incident with Lucifer when Jinx announced your engagement we talked about repairing your relationship and he was more stubborn and angry than I thought. He agreed to ignore you so things didn't become worse.

[But that's not good enough for Michael, he wants them to be a family again.] I went to Father then. Asked Him to help. [And he was told to be honest so....here it goes.]

There are so many things that I've done wrong since He left, but I can't change it. I don't want the future that's still to come from my point in time. But...I'm not sure what to do. [He can't bring himself to just walk off the chessboard.]

[Gabriel sticks his tongue in his cheek and goes quiet for a long time.] So what did He tell you to do?

He didn't really tell me what to do about it. I think... [A hesitant pause.] He gave me the choice to pick a right path. [Choices, Michael has choices but he doesn't even know what to do with this freedom after following the rules for so long.]

As for His advice on fixing this family...He said to set aside my role and masks, to stop being a leader and instead be a brother and friend - to be honest with all of you.

Gabriel is utterly stunned for a long time before he finally manages to untangle his tongue enough to speak.]

Dad actually agreed with me? That's what I've been saying since the jump.

[Michael lets Gabriel have his moment of shocked silence, God knew he had his when he was actually talking with Dad.]

Except...I don't know what to do, what's right for me because the paths that you, Anna and Castiel walked aren't something I can do.

[Gabriel scoffs.] Well, Michael.. That's kinda the damn point. We had our paths- you, bro? Have to find your own.

[He turns to face Gabriel now.]

I am not telling you this because I'm subtly asking for help, Gabriel. I'm reaching out to you. Sharing what I haven't told anyone else yet.

And I'm reaching back. [Gabriel paces around his brother.] 'Cause I know you won't deal with it the right way on your own.

Do you have so little faith in me that you think I won't find the right way on my own?

[He sighs] I don't have an overabundance of faith period, Michael.

You should work on that. [A pause because Michael doesn't really ask for help. Raphael and Lucifer give it, most of the siblings take orders.] Though I would appreciate your help.

With what? Setting you on the right path? Or tracking down Daddy and making him answer us straight? 'Cause, lemme tell you, one of those options sounds real tempting right now and it ain't the first one.

I have no interest in finding Father but if you wish to speak to Him...well, He seems to be answering prayers.

Maybe I'll do that. [He has a few ideas.]
