It's a few hours later before Castiel responds, bothering to use video instead of texting this time.]

I presume you were all alright in my absence.

[Castiel presumes any moping was about something unrelated to his absence because Gabriel's the only one he's certain actually would care. But at the question he just raises his left hand into view, the silver ring unmissable on his finger.

That's the part he's pretty sure Gabriel will actually care to hear about, rather than how much their world does indeed still suck.]

How is it different from any of the other bonds I have formed with others in the same span of time? It is simply called something different.

Marriage, Castiel, is binding. You'd be better off marrying Sam or Dean at this point. At least you know they're a little bit psycho. Daphne could be Ted Bundy and you'd- well, you'd know, but would you care if she wasn't hiding bits of strippers in the basement?
